Section 180(c)
The Section 180(c) Ad Hoc Working Group (AHWG) of the National Transportation Stakeholders Forum (NTSF) was established to continue to evaluate the Department’s proposed Section 180(c) policy and identify outstanding issues/activities necessary for successful implementation of the policy including, but not limited to, allocation of funds, allowable activities, and development of grant guidance documents and a technical assistance plan. The goal of the AHWG is to help DOE consider issues of importance to State, Tribal and other government entities to effectively conduct planning and training for emergency response in support of a national spent nuclear fuel shipping program, document work done through white papers (aka “issue papers”) and make that work available to the NTSF community.
In June 2022 the NTSF Section 180(c) AHWG resumed work and is again meeting quarterly! Look below for a historical summary of Section 180(c) work to assist new and returning AHWG members learn about this group's work.
